This position will be responsible for increased nutritional recommendations and compliance levels at the UF VMC. Responsibilities Include:
1. Ensure that patients receive a nutritional (verbal and written) recommendation in hospital and at discharge with an emphasis in the Outpatient Medicine and Dentistry Service. Ensure that discharged patients receive follow-up communication to ensure maximum long-term nutritional compliance. Ensure that patient's records have the above information recorded in the computer. Work with other services as requested to educate clients on nutritional care.
2. Work with Hill's Student Representative to enhance benefits of College Food Program and other Hill's College of Veterinary Medicine support. Ability to train at Hill's Pet Nutrition Center and University of Tennessee Nutrition Service.
3. Instruct students about clinical nutrition and proper communication to clients; Ability to train others on internal feeding techniques.
4. Training on nutritional subjects to UF veterinary technicians and clinicians at least 2 times per year.
5. Monitor and report nutritional compliance among clients and track the sales of Hill's and other food products.
6. Be available for Hill's external talks within reason.
